Kwong Kow Chinese School (KKCS), a 95-year old Chinese heritage school in Chinatown, Boston, MA, warmly welcomes everyone to explore this fantastic and unique educational land, which links our past, present, and future. It tells our stories of yesterday, carries out
efforts of today, and shares our dreams of tomorrow. Now, let’s begin this new adventure together……

 

Our Mission

The Kwong Kow Chinese School's mission is to disseminate Chinese language and culture to Chinese and non-Chinese learners through formal and informal learning opportunities.  We strive to bridge Western and Eastern cultures, and to integrate the best education traditions of both to nurture tomorrow’s global citizens.

As our mission, KKCS functions as:

A language center

-- to offer Chinese language courses for professional and personal use and enrichment. Classes are taught in a variety of  levels, including: k-12/beginning, intermediate, & advanced, conversational, intensive, travel, and business in both Cantonese and Mandarin;

-- to provide a Weekday and Evening Adult/Business Chinese Program, an Afterschool Program, a Weekend Program, a Summer Program, and Language and Culture Learning Trips to China;

-- to tutor and to organize Chinese language proficiency testing.

A culture center

-- to teach Chinese culture courses including but not limited to music, painting, dance, theater, martial arts, calligraphy, and sports;

-- to organize scholarly seminars, as well as arts and cultural events on a variety of topics regarding China.

An education center

-- to offer Chinese language and culture education;

-- to conduct a “G-Age English & Math Program” by collaborating with Newton Learning Center and provide the standard-based tutoring courses in: G1-10 English & Math, MCAS, ISEE, SAT I, & SAT II (Physics & Chemistry);

-- to provide education on Eastern and Western music, including Chinese dulcimer, drum, guitar, violin (collaborating with the Ip Piano School), etc;

-- to run programs for parents and communities to meet the needs of lifelong learners and supply continuous education.
