According to the report from the US “World Journal,” Kwong Kow Chinese School at Boston held the “Christmas Celebration & Students Talent Show” at its auditorium room last weekend. More than 200 students, teachers and parents attended the party. Talented students showed their achievements during the year to the teachers and parents in the forms of singing, musical instruments playing, poem reciting, and so on. The performances brought joyful atmosphere to the holiday. The celebration was hosted by the Principal of the school, Dr. Yanyu Zhou, and teacher, Mr. Fei Wang. It started with the celebrating Chinese drum performance “Christmas Drums,” brought by the Drum and Chinese Dulcimer Class. Yanyu Zhou offered holiday greetings to the teachers, students and parents, and also encouraged students to develop their interests in talent art performances outside of their studies.

Then, students carried out more performances, such as dancing, martial arts, reciting, singing, Chinese dulcimer, piano, violin, and so on. Their splendid performances received warm applauds.

A group of kindergarten and Grade 1 kids came to the Alta and recited “Three Word Bible” and “Chinese Character Bible” (two of the most famous ancient Chinese literature in history). When parents saw their kids could recite two classic literature so fluently, they were surprised and commending, and gave them the warmest applauds.

The leader teacher, Ms. Fei Wang said, these kids, range from 5 to 7 years old, had studied the ancient Chinese literature for only several months. They could now recite them fluently, but also understood the behavioral rules taught in the literatures. She emphasized that many kids changed their behavior in life after studied the classic literatures.

Later on, Santa Claus with huge gift bag came to the crowds, and brought the activity to a new high. All the kids cheered loudly and gathered around the Santa Claus, Santa distributed gifts to each kid, and answered imaginative questions about Santa from the kids. Laughters and cheers of the kids made the whole school indulged in the happiness of the holiday.
