Chinese Culture

Chinese Dance Class: Students of traditional Chinese dance classes will learn the fundamentals of traditional Chinese dance and new choreography each semester. Class time includes warm-ups and floor exercises. These exercises will increase flexibility, discipline, stamina and grace. The majority of the class time is spent learning new choreography. There are many forms of Chinese dance, such as ethnic, classical, dynastical, and folk dances. Students will not only learn different forms of Chinese dance, but will also be introduced to the history, culture, music and costumes of each dance.

Time: Saturday

                        Level 1 (12:00pm – 1:00pm, ages: 3-5 years,)

                        Level 2 (1:15pm – 2:45pm, ages: 6-8 years,)

                        Level 3 (2:45pm – 4:45pm, ages: 9+ years,)

           Tuition: (Per Semester, 5 months)

                         Level 1 - $200.00

                         Level 2 - $250.00

                         Level 3 - $300.00

Students are placed in respective levels according to their age and dance experience. Class times and duration are subject to change each semester.

Instructor: Eleanor Yu
Eleanor Yu has been dance instructor at Kwong Kow since 2004. She has 17 years of Chinese dance experience having studied with Mr. Wang Shiwang at the Boston Chinese Folk and Classical Dance Troupe and Ms. Chu Ling at the Chu Ling Dance Academy. She has also had three years of ballet study. During her free time she enjoys learning other forms of dance including ballroom and Latin dance. Eleanor is a graduate of Wellesley College and is a PharmD candidate at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
