Friday, December 18, 2009, Boston Orange, translated by H. Miao

Kwong Kow Chinese School and the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center held a Christmas Celebration Party yesterday (17th) afternoon. It provided the opportunity for the elderlies not only to spend some time with young kids, and experience the youth of life, but also to hear some children's songs and enjoy Chinese Dulcimer performance.

The Principal of KKCS, Dr. Yanyu Zhou said that the kids made Christmas cards themselves, and attached them onto the gifts. They sent their gifts to the elderlies, thus they might experience the Chinese tradition to respect the elderlies.

The vice administrative director of GBCGAC, Mr. Kun Chang, said that the career training class organized by the center, provides training opportunities for 62 to 85 elderlies, who are older than 55, every year. The training class helps the elderlies to go back to the job market, giving play to their strong points. Among them, most are Asian. This year, two elderlies from the center, Ms. Wanhua Huang and Ms. Wangping Shao, who had been teachers, are working at KKCS. This connection lead to the joint Christmas Celebration Party, at

which all the kids and elderlies had a very good time.

KKCS Chinese Dulcimer teacher, Mr. Zhengtian Zhang, with some of his Grade 9 students, Xiaolin Du, Yawen Wu and so on, performed several musical pieces including "Successive Rings."

Kwong Kow Chinese School is going to hold its Talent Show at noon, the 19th.
