Chief Administrator/School Head

Founded in 1916, KKCS provides quality out-of-school Chinese language and cultural education, academic support, and recreational programs for more than 500 children of low to moderate income families from kindergarten through 9th Grade. The school’s new $7.4 million facility on 87 Tyler Street, Boston was completed in 2007.

The ideal candidate for the after-school, weekend, and summer school chief administrator/school head position will be a high energy individual who is bilingual in English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin preferred). The full time position will provide ample opportunity for the successful candidate to demonstrate his/her leadership and administrative ability to bring the school, together with its staff and student body, to the next level of excellence. Mandarin Teachers
We are looking for qualified experienced mandarin teachers. Preferred candidates should meet following requirements:
-- Two or more years of teaching experience in a heritage language school or public school
-- A bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field
-- Familiar with teaching and extracurricular activities in k-12 setting
-- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese, fluency in both dialects is an added plus)
-- Self-motivated, responsible, creative, independent, and can also work well in a team
-- Love kids; love educational career.

English Teachers
We are looking for qualified experienced English teachers for the Summer Program. Preferred candidates should meet following requirements:
-- Mayor in English, Education or other related fields;
-- A bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field
-- Be able to build rapport and communicate with students;
-- Be able to explain things clearly, develop students' independent and critical thinking;
-- Be able to collaborate with colleagues;
-- Be able to take constructive criticism.

Math/Science/Computer Technology Teachers
We are looking for qualified experienced teachers for the Summer Program. Preferred candidates should meet following requirements:
-- Mayor in Math or English or Computer Science or other field;
-- A bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field

What a wonderful opportunity for you to acquire new skills, make new friends, and explore Chinese culture with a history for more than five thousand years. KKCS After School Program is looking for responsible teaching assistants (TA):
Time Schedule:

September 8th, 2011 – January 31st, 2012
Monday - Friday: 3:45pm – 6:00pm     
Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00am - 12:45pm; 1:30pm - 4:15pm 

Duties of the Position:
Help students to do their homework.
Assist teachers with their students.
Collaborate with peers and TAs to provide direct instruction for students and curriculum planning.
Lead an indoor/outdoor activit
y.
Provide environment to encourage student participation in their learning process.
Maintain order among pupils.
Teach students good study habits, critical thinking, taking initiative, and self-discipline.
Qualifications:
Desire to work with children.
Able to teach and respond in an appropriate manner to students and parents.
Able to work independently with little direct supervision.
Able to work with TAs and administrators to bring about positive results.
A strong work ethic.
Excellent written and oral communicational skills.
Prior teaching experience a plus.
