Student clubs are very important to the KKCS curriculum. Emphasizing student-center teaching, KKCS has paid a lot of attention to cultivate students’ ability through club activities. Since the 2009 summer, KKCS has been building up a diversity of clubs to meet students’ interests and needs. Students were fascinated in all kinds of clubs and enjoyed tremendously this learning-by-doing process.
Clubs for Afterschool Program: Starting from Spring, 2010, KKCS has set up five Chinese Culture clubs for its afterschool students to attend in every Friday afternoon, including Martial Arts Club, Cooking Club, Origami Arts Club, Chinese Classic Works Recitation Club, and Story Telling Club.
Clubs for Summer Program: For KKCS summer program students, one of the most popular sections is its club time in the afternoon. These clubs include Dance Club, Music Club, Kung Fu Club, Fashion Club, Environmental Club, Arts & Crafts Club, Calligraphy Club, Logic Club, Chinese Yo-Yo Club, Cooking Club, etc..
Clubs for Weekend Programs: In Fall 2010, KKCS in its entire history will first time start to offer clubs for students who attend the weekend programs. The following clubs will be provided by KKCS in the 2010 -2011 academic year: Basketball Club, Swimming Club, Chinese Table Tennis Club, Go/Chess Club, Chinese Yo-yo Club, Lion Dance Club, and Fashion Club.
