Carrying out holistic education, KKCS puts its full efforts to make itself as a new educational model in the 21st century, which can integrate the Western and Eastern education and culture together and combine teaching students’ knowledge and facilitating their personal development together. To achieve our goals, we have held a lot of students’ activities. On KKCS campus, students enjoy a colorful life.
Here we list some of the major activities we have had recently:
KKCS successfully run its 19th Summer Program -- "KKCS 2010 Chinese Village Summer Program" (July 6 - August 27).
Around 200 students from the Great Boston Areas participated in this full immersion Chinese culture summer program. By using the theme-based accelerated Mandarin learning approach, students were able to recognize more than 300 Chinese characters which were related to Chinese history, geography, and Chinese traditional culture during two months. On August 26, 2010, the school held its "Summer Program Closing Ceremony" at China Pearl Restaurant. More than 200 people including guests, Board members, teachers, TAS, parents and students attended the ceremony. Students had had all kinds of art performance including singing, dance, drumming, Chinese Kungfu, Chinese Yo-yo, Chinese accelerated Mandarin recognition etc., to demonstrate the accomplishment they had learned in two months. The results were very positive from the audience. Several major local Chinese newspapers reported this event.
KKCS held its annual listening, speaking, reading and writing competition (May 15, April 24, 2010)
KKCS annual competition on listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese was held on April 24, and May 15, 2010. More than 100 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 were awarded for their excellent performance during the competition. A complete name list of the award recipients can be found here. Kwong Kow Chinese School Participated in “Josiah Quincy Elementary School Diversity Celebration” (Mar. 19, 2010)
On March 19, 2010, kids from the Kwong Kow Chinese School after school program were invited to join the “Diverse Day Celebration” at the Josiah Qunicy Elementary School. They performed “Classic Reciting,” “Accelerated Mandarin,” and “Kungfu” at the ceremony, which were all very successful and exciting. The audience gave them the warmest applauds. Chinese New Year Celebration & TA Appreciation Day (Feb. 12, 2010)

On February 12th, 2010, the Kwong Kow Chinese School held its Chinese New Year Celebration Party & TA Appreciation Day at the auditorium room. All the students, teachers and some of the parents from the After School Program attended the event. All the former and current teaching assistants were invited to the party, too. The school honored seven excellent TA's from last semester and thanked them for their great work. Panda Express Inc. offered free dinner boxes to everyone at the party. The kids learned the customs and meaning of Spring Festival through fun games. KKCS Afterschool Program 2009 Fall Semester Students’ Award Ceremony (Jan. 29, 2010)
On Jan. 29, 2010, KKCS held its end of semester Award Ceremony in the auditorium room. All the teachers and parents got together happily to celebrate the success of the kids. More than 30 students were awarded for different prizes. KKCS practices holistic education, so that besides helping the students to raise their intellectual levels, and providing the students Chinese language and other types of knowledge, they emphasize more on the behavioral and moral training of the kids, and encourage kids' improvement to lead them to a holistic development. Therefore, among the awards, besides “Excellent Student Award,” there were “Best Behavior Award,” “Biggest Advancement Award,” “Helping Others Award,” “Best Disciplines Award,” “Best Homework Award,” and so on. Kids were very excited to get all kinds of awards, and the parents were proud of the advancement that their kids had made. Christmas Celebration & Students Talent Show (Dec. 19, 2009)
Kwong Kow Chinese School held the “Christmas Celebration & Students Talent Show” at its auditorium room on December 19, 2009. More than 200 students, teachers and parents attended the party. Talented students showed their achievements during the year to the teachers and parents in the forms of singing, musical instruments playing, poem reciting, and so on. The performances brought joyful atmosphere to the holiday. The Principal of the school, Dr. Yanyu Zhou, offered holiday greetings to the teachers, students and parents, and also encouraged students to develop their interests in talent art performances outside of their studies. Christmas Celebration with the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center and Students Performance for the Elderlies (Dec. 17, 2009)

On December 17, 2009, Kwong Kow Chinese School and the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center held a Christmas Celebration Party. It provided the opportunity for the elderlies not only to spend some time with young kids, and experience the youth of life, but also to hear some children's songs and enjoy Chinese Dulcimer performance. The Principal of KKCS, Dr. Yanyu Zhou said that the kids made Christmas cards themselves, and attached them onto the gifts. They sent their gifts to the elderlies, thus they might experience the Chinese tradition to respect the elderlies. Dulcimer and Dance classes attended the Annual Chinatown August Moon Festival (Aug. 16, 2009)
KKCS sold raffle tickets, and held the drawing.

"KKCS 2009 Summer Olympics" commenced (Aug., 2009)
KKCS summer program organized its first Olympic games. All the students were divided into several teams, led by head TA's. The games lasted for about two weeks, and the "Dark Knight" team won most medals and became the winning team of the year.

"KKCS 2009 Summer Program" commenced (Jun. 29, 2009)
This year's summer program combines eastern and western culture, practicing holistic education. During the 8 week program, students had numerous fieldtrips, including visiting the Natural Science Museum in Boston, the New England Aquarium, the Harbor Island, and so on. Local Chinese newspapers reported KKCS summer program for its rich and creative activities.
